EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
President Brian Murphy called the Texas Chapter AFS Executive Committee to or
at 1:35 p.m. 24 Jun 1986, at Southwest Texas State University Aquatic Station,
San Marcos, Texas. The members present constituted a quorum: Maury Ferguson, -Jai
Geiger, Dick Luebke, Tony Maciorowski, Valerie Morrill, Brian Murphy, Joe Tomasso,
and Bobby Whiteside.
o Treasury -- Valerie Morrill reported that the Chapter has $2,417.09 in its
Money Market account. There are currently 169 paid members. The EXCOM dec
that a roster of nonrenewing 1985 members should be prepared for use by Dav
Lee's Membership Committee.
o Membership Committee -- Brian Murphy reported for David Lee that a computer
list of TX AFS members has been completed. The EXCOM discussed-application
the "Directory of Texas Fisheries Workers".
o Editorial Committee -- Dick Luebke reported that the Editoral Committee has
prepared a letter to the AFS Parent Society editors pending EXCOM approval.
The letter requests clarification of the status of the Proceedings of TX AF
a literature citation. The EXCOM approved the letter and additionally requ'
that the Editorial Committee obtain tentative clarification by telephone. F
EXCOM feels that it is imperative that a final determination be 'received in
for the Chapter Annual Meeting.
Copies of "Proceedings VIII" will be ready for distribution at the Annual
Meeting. It will contain a transcript of 'the panel discussion, abstracts a
papers. At present the panel transcript 'is complete, and the papers are un
going author revision.
o Urban Fisheries Committee -- Brian Murphy reported for Jim Daivs that two
scheduled events fell through, however a third tournament cosponsored by Zel
in Houston appeared to be a sure thing.
o Farm Pond Committee -- Brian Murphy reported for Billy Higginbotham that t]
revision project is complete, and the Farm Pond Committee is awaiting its n4
assignment. A notice of the Farm Pond Committee's recommendations for futu
topics was distributed. The EXCOM also suggested aquatic weeds and fish
identification as possible topics.
o New Business -- Brian Murphy relayed a request from AFS Chapter Liaison, Toi
Brome, for a list of AFS members interested in attending the Tackle Industr'
convention in Dallas. The EXCOM will contact possible interested individuaBrian Murphy delivered a request for donation to the Skinner Memorial Fund.
Bobby Whiteside suggested the Chapter consider purchase of raffle tickets a
contribution. Maury Ferguson made a motion (Jaime Geiger seconded) that th
Chapter purchase $50 worth of raffle tickets as a donation to the Skinner
Memorial Fund. The motion carried.
Joe Tomasso made a motion (Tony Maciorowski seconded) to adjourn. The moti
carried. Brian Murphy adjourned the meeting of the TX AFS EXCOM at 4:12 p.
