SHOW AND DANCE - The
show, which is free if you bring

POPPY CAMPAIGN - Veter-
ans of Foreign Wars Post 688
and its Ladies Auxiliary will
distribute Buddy Poppies at
Wal-Mart, Bank of America and
Frost Bank from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. on May 24. Proceeds will
go to benefit disabled and needy
veterans as wells as widows and
orphans of deceased veterans in
the community.

BLOOD DRIVE - Donate
blood on Memorial Day. Boerne
Health Club is sponsoring a
community blood drive from 7
to 9 a.m. on Monday, May 26. A
South Texas Blood & Tissue
Center mobile unit will be in the
parking lot at 430 W. Bandera

All donors will receive a T-
shirt and a full cholesterol pro-
file, which shows both “good”
and “bad” cholesterol levels.
The basic requirements for a
blood donor are to weigh at
least 110 pounds, be 17 years of
age or older and be in good gen-
eral health. Federal regulations
require that donors present ap-
propriate identification before
donating. The identification
should include the donor’s name
and either date of birth, Social
Security number of photograph.
SCHLITTERBAHN - Schlit-
terbahn Waterpark Resort will
hold its annual amateur body
boarding competition 5 p.m.
Monday, May 26. All ages are
invited to compete on the park’s
continuous wave called the Boo-
gie Bahn. An entry form can be

RUNNING OF THE TUBES
IN NEW BRAUNFELS - It is
scheduled for 5 p.m. at Prince
Solms Park in New Braunfels.
Everyone is encouraged to bring
his or her tubes to the starting
line at 4:45 p.m. in the north
end of the park. After some brief
ceremonial remarks, participants
will race their tubes to a Jump-
In launch into the Comal River.
The public is also invited to
submit entries for a Tube Parade
public art exhibit, modeled after
the Cow Parade in San Antonio.
The tubes will be displayed
throughout the summer and
some will be auctioned off at
summer’s end to fund clean-up
efforts. Call (830) 620-6262 to
rent a tube, if without one, and

formation on purchasing tubes
to decorate for the Tube Parade.

ber’s groundbreaking musical
will be performed on Fridays,
Saturdays and Sundays from
May 16 through June 21 at the
San Pedro Playhouse, San Pedro

sell Hill Rogers Theater. Friday
performances at 8 p.m., Satur-
day at 7 p.m., and Sundays at

formance on its first weekend
