of P.O. Box 932, Boerne TX 78006 of Co.
B 142nd whose story of STALAG 9-,
was published in Vol. I No. 3, 36th
Historical Quarterly, was picked up by
the Boerne Star, and covered nearly a
full page in two installments. He told for
the first time, the grim experiences they
had to endure at Bad Ord, Germany.
Gus gave copies to the local library,
and many friends, and commented - "It
will give people something
remember of the men who served
their country."
Benner's ten-page story is about the
best your editor has encountered. It
shall be reprinted many times in years
ahead.
Red this!"Ate one of the most delicious meals I have ever had here. This
pub-restaurant is centuries old. Most of the plots of the French
Revolution were atche inside. On the corner to the right was the
domicile of Dr. eph Ignaee uilloti who perfected the an-
cient machine by practicing on sheep. After the revolution, many
cart-loads of bodies were taken from the house, and not too long
ago was found walled portion of the cellar, from which several
loads of sheep bones were carried away."
So says - C. B. 'Gilly' Gilman, P.O. Box 9583, Houston, TX 77261
of yc. & C Co. 143rd, about his trip back to Italy and France last
September. He has dozens of great photo recording this trip,
which was sent to your editor.we
