CONFERENCE
The 2008 Uniform Crime Reporting Conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Austin
from November 17th - November 19th, 2008. Sessions will include the new Sexual As-
sault Incident Reporting form, LEOKA, Drugs Seized, Summary and IBR definitions, Secure
Site and more. The agenda and reservation numbers will be provided at a later date. We

We have a new OJIS Field Representative, Nick Perales. Mr. Perales started at the TXDPS
in December 2007 in General Services and joined the OJIS Staff in Crime Records, March
2008. Nick will be assisting the counties in region nine with their Criminal History Report-
ing. He is currently working on a Political Science degree at the University of Texas in San
Antonio and has recently moved to Austin to pursue a beneficial career path with DPS.
Nick is an excellent addition to our team of field representatives and we look forward to
working with him.4
