'Lions' Visit Crippled Children I
Four members of the Gid-
dings Lions Club and their
wives drove to Kerrville Sun-
day where they spent an entire
day visiting the Lions Crippled
Childrens Camp.
"The trip was very reward-
ing.” said one member of the
club, "and would be well worth
a trip for others in Giddings to
see.”
This camp, sponsored by the
Lions Club of Texas, is being
studied by Lions Clubs in other
states which plan to build si-
milar camps. It is equipped to
handle from 800 to 1.000 crip-
pled and blind children each
year. These children get a com-
plete two-week training which
enables them to lead more en-
joyable and successful lives.
While the Giddings Lions
were there, the Laredo Lions |
Club entertained the -children
with a Latin American-type |
program.
The children, themselves, put
on a very interesting program
and conducted a Sunday morn- |
ing worship service.
The Lions Club of Texas 1
sponsors this camp and doesn’t
charge a penny for the services
rendered.
- If anyone in the Giddings
area has a child that is physi-
cally incapacitated or has other
physcial ailments, be sure to
contact the Giddings Lions Club
for further information about
the camp at Kerrville.
Those Lions attending form
Giddings , were Bill Pratho, Dr.
D. C. Rose, Albert Schkade,
Leonard Symmank, and their
wives.
