given him because of his outstand-

go to Denver before returning to
Texas.
David Creighton of Ban Bernar-
dino, California, who is spending
the summer in Abilene at the home
of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Harun Fullerton, went to
Lubbock Saturday morning to visit
another aunt and uncle, Mr. and

George D. Donovan of Los Angeles
left Friday for New York.
BIRTHDAY LEIS—are being worn by Sarah Bess and,
Alfred Cook who were photographer at the Lanakai,
Oahu home in the Hawaiian Islands when Alfred cele-
brated his fourth anniversary June 22 at a party given
by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben P. Cook. Former Abi-
lenians, the family has been living at Lanakai since last
November. Sarah Bess was two in May. The children are
grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. B. Parker Cook of Abi-
lene. Their mother, the former Thelma Suber, is a niece
of Mrs. A. G. Gent, and formerly lived in the Gent home.
She is a graduate of Abilene high scool and Hardin-Sim-
mons university. Mr. Cook is Hawaii manager for Our
Army magazine.
