Under the stipulation agreed to
Thursday the trial of the paternity
suit is suspended indefinitely, and
in the event the blood tests show
Chaplin is not the father, the suit
is to be withdrawn and he “shall
not tereafter be obligated to make
any other or further payments for
any purpose whatsoever."
PAYMENTS MADE
Chaplin paid $2,500 to Miss Ber-
ry and agreed to send her $100
weekly until birth of the child
or further action of the court. The
money is to be used for medical,
hospital, legal and other expenses.
Chaplin also pays $5,000 now to the
young woman’s lawyers and $5,000
at conclusion of the trial, plus $500
court costs. A sum of $1,000 is to

same situation applies to many
military leaders and to heads
of certain war agencies.
“These consumers must under-
stand that the reserve is not the
same as 100 million bushels of wheat
in the granaries. They must realize
that it will take years to bring most
of this oil to the surface.
“It is storage only in the sense
that its presence is definitely known

of the reserve will stay in the pro-
ducing horizons permanently at
