PUBLIC AGAINST MAKING CAFES
TAKE RATION POINTS FOR MEAL
By GEORGE GALLUP
Director, American Institute of
Public Opinion
PRINCETON, N. J., June 15—The
food situation, unlike our dreams,
isn’t getting better all the time.
What with meats, sugar, butter,
eggs, in some cases even vegetables,
harder and harder to get, the whole
subject of ration points and food
distribution is a daily conversation
topic over backyard fences, at sew-
ing circles, on ,
the street corner. 1
One of the’
ideas often heard 1
is t hat people
who eat in res-
taurants should
be made to give i
out points for 1
meat they con-
sume. This is
based on th e.
feeling that the GALLUP
feeling that the present system dis-
criminates against the poor, who
cannot afford to eat in
ants.
DO YOU THINK RESTAURANTS
SHOULD COLLECT RATION POINTS
FROM PEOPLE WHO EAT MEALS
WHICH INCLUDE MEAT?
