Lipscomb Improvement
Plan Not Encouraged
Little encouragement for Lip- 1
scomb Street residents, who are
urging the early widening and 1m-
provement of Lipscomb Street to
connect with Lamar, was seen at
the City Hall Wednesday.
City Manager Carr threw "cold
water" on the speedy plans for im-
provements along the Dallas Pike
last week, and said the city could
take the improvements up only
one at a time.
Councilmen say the improve-
ment of the Lipscomb - Lamar
Street corrstown route will depend
on the action of the railroad com-
panies.
Committee Named.
A committee to press the im-
provement was appointed at a
meeting of the Lamar and Lips-
comb Street Development Associa-
tion at a meeting at the DeZavala
School Tuesday night.
The committeemen include: Dr.
