Rev. Virgil H. Fisher., pastor of the Polytechnic Meth-
odist church.
Born near Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas, in 189%,
Rev. Fisher received his first educational advantages in
the country schools near his birthplace.
From the country schools, he went to Gatesville High
Bchgol, where he graduated. He then entered an interde-
nominational college of North Texas, from which he re-
ceived the degrees of Bachelor of Oratory and Bachelor of
Arts. He did post-graduate work in Southern Methodist

After leaving the university, he accepted the pastorate
of the Methodist Church-at Chillicothe, thence to the fol-
lowing towns tn the western part of Texas: Childress, Am- .
art Un and Lamesa.
In November, 1928, Bishop John M. Moore, Dallas, ap-
