Turnbin. 84, Tarrant County pioneer, who
settled here when Fort Worth was a mili-
tary post, were held at 10 a. m. Friday
at the Gause-Ware Funeral Home, Burial
was in Pioneer's Rest. Mrs. Turnbill died
in Dallas Thursday,
Funeral services for W. F. Akers, 77,
who died Thursday at his home, 1141 Clara
Street, will be held in Sherman at 6 p. m.

hospital In Alexandria, La., Tuesday, were

West Oakwood Cemetery were conduct-
ed by Elks Lodge No. 124, of which Mr.
Elliott was formerly a ruler.
Funeral services for W. B. Flippo, 77,
veteran Fort Worth cattleman, who died
Thursday at his residence, 2801 Noble St.,
will be held at 4:30 p. m. Friday at the
Sylvania Methodist Church. Burial will
be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

GALVESTON, Aug. 1.—Beau-
ty, international and national,
moved onto Galveston today, on
the eve of the 11th annual in-
ternational pageant of pulchri-
tude-
The contest will decide Miss
America and then Miss Universe,
and will officially get under way
tomorrow afternoon in a parade
in sport clothes with more than
40 girls entered.

eign countries, will attend the
beauty ball at the Hotel Galvez
Saturday night.
Sunday the highlight of the
pageant-will be staged in Menard
Park, the bathing suit parade, an
