THE illustration represents a simplified map, on which the
numbered circles are Indian camps and the lines are paths.
The five Indians are hostile toward each other and are all go-
ing to their camps at the same time. The problem Is to get
each Indian to his respective camp by a route that does not
cross or travel on any other Indian’s path.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8.—Los
Angeles was called the "hottest
city” by Col. H. H. Hersey, gov-
ernment forecaster, today after a
search of records as far back as
1877 failed to show a stretch of
November weather quite as hot
as the last six days.
The maximum temperature in
Los Angeles during the six days
has not fallen below 86 degrees

Collapse of Roof and Two
Walls at State Asylum
' Injures 12 Others
By United Press.
RUSK. Nov. 8.—The death of
J. D. Tannehill, electrician, of
Austin, last night marked the see-
ond fatality resulting from the
collapse of a building of the state
insane asylum here yesterday.
„Wade Foreman, was instantly
killed when the roof and two 80-
foot walls fell in.
Carpenters, plumbers, electri-
clang and other workmen were re-
modeling an old barn which had
been used for negroes at the
asylum. Pouring of fresh cement
on the walla of the structure was |
too great a strain and the building |
collapsed, injuring a dozen per-
sons besides the two whose lives
it cost.
