Now that the elections are over
let us turn our attention to domestic
affairs with diligence and cease all
bickerings and complainings.
Georgia sends eleven Democratic
representatives to Congr. ss this time
—a solid delegation fiom the solidest
state of the solid South.—Atlanta
Journal.
An average of 9600000 kids are
slaughtered every year to furnish a
single manufacturing town in France
with skins. These will make 1200-
000000 dozens of gloves.
And now Oklahoma is reported
Democratic. Let her at once be ad-
mitted into the Union as one of the
sovereign states. Then we will have
two more Democratic Senators.
The elections held iu Arkansas in
September and November were fair
and square. Grand Democratic vic-
tories resulted. Arkansas can be re-
lied upon as a Democratic State.
Prof. Hicks weather prophet pre-
dicts a very severe winter and says
that the void weather next spring in
March and April will pul the cap
sheaf on any winter weather we ever
had.
Hon. Lawrence Neal of Ohio
who dictated the splendid tariff plank
in the National Democratic platform
deserves special recognition. A cab-
inet place would be a suitable reward
for his services to the party and the
country.
We beat 'hem we did them up we
pulverized them we annihilated
them we put them out of their mis-
ery. When Democrate get together
and fight together shoulder to suoul-
der they are invincible.—Arkansas
Democrat.
Gallant Tom Mcßae wiped up the
earth with Populist Bush down in the
3rd district. Bush should follow Ans
ley and Elmore Mitchel to Oklahoma.
—Hot Springs News.
Tom Mcßae is noted for his snow-
ing under so many Third party cranks.
When Democrats come into power
next March controlling all branches
of the government it will be enableu
to carry out the legislation it desires.
If it does not reform the robber tariff
n a reasonable time then we think it
ought to go out of business.
The hoary moss-backed lie that
foreign manufacturers had contribut-
ed heavily to the Democratic cam-
paign fund was worked energetically
in the recent campaign but it amount-
ed to naught. It was only the money
of Frick Carnegie Armour and the
like that hail any effect.—Ex.
Merely as a matter of information
will some of our contemporaries in-
form us where their pay "is at” for
running the advertisement of a cer-
tain Canadian "picture puzzle.”—
Searcy Beacon.
It is ridiculous how many papers
will tai-e almost any kind of an ad
vertieement "just to fill up on"
many of them say. They 'hus injure
themselves and the business gener-
toiv
Gen. Longstreet of Georgia who
attended the U. S. Military Academy
at West Point N. Y. some forty
years ago says that the song “Dixie”
"originated with the Southern boys
at the military acedemy and sprang
from their admiration of a Northern
man named Dixie who took a noble
stand upon the question of “Southern
rights." He had moved South and
lived among us many years. The
song tame afterward."
A wholesale grocer in this city
who has become rich at the business
says his rule is that when he sells a
bill of goods on credit to immediate
ly subscribe for the local paper of his
debtor. So long as bls customer ad-
vertises liberally he rested but as
soon as he began to contract his ad-
vertising space he took the fact as
evidence that there was trouble ahead
and invariably went for the debtor.

American Cholera.
From the Daily Reveille Whatcom Wash.
"T. (.’. Burnett the Democratic can-
didate for sheriff was taken violently
ill at Clearbrook. He had all the
symptons of Asiatic cholera and for
an hour or two it was feared he would
die. They finally gave him a dose of
Chamberlain's Colic. Cholera and Diar-
rhoea Remedy which revived him un-
til a physician arrived." I'hat is pre-
cisely what the manufacturers of that
medicine recommend for cholera.
Send for a physician but give their
medicine until the physician arrives.
If cholera becomes prevalent in this

Everybody has at times failed to do
their duty toward themselves. Hun-
dreds of lady readers suffer from sick
headache nervousness sleeplessness
and female troubles. Let them fol-
low the example of Mis. H. llerbech-
ter Stevens Point; Wis. who for five
years suffered greatly from nervous
prostration and sleeplessness tried
physicians and different medicines
without success. But one bottle of
Dj. Miles’ Nervine caused sound
sleep every night and she is feeling
like a new person. Sirs. Elizabeth
Wheeler Laramie City Wyoming
who tried all other remedies declares
that after three week’s use of the Ner-
vine for headache nervous prostra-
tion etc. she was entirely relieved.

These words are very familiar to
our readers as not a day passes with-

some prominent citizen. The explan-
ation is “Heart Disease.” Therefore
beware if you have any of the follow-

in side smothering spells swollen
ankles asthmatic breathing weak and
hungry spells tenderness in shoulder
or arm fluttering of heart or irregular
pulse. These symptoms mean heart

It is an old-fashion notion
that medicine has to taste
bad to do any good.
Scott’s Emulsion is cod-
liver oil with its fish-fat taste
lost —nothing is lost but the
taste.
This is more than a mat-
ter of comfort. Agreeable
taste is always a help to di-
gestion. A sickening taste
is always a hindrance.
There is only harm in taking
cod-liver oil unless you digest
it. Avoid the taste.
