The lower House of Congress is
now wrestling with the ailverquestion
a strong effort is being trade by
the enemies of silver to repeal the
Sherman law.
Fifti-foub persons died in Paris •
France Wednesday with cholera or
cholerine. It begins to look as if the
drea i plague will scourge all coun-
tries before the end of 1893. Every
precaution should prevent its re-ap-
pearance in this country.
If the World’s Fair is not opened
on Sunday the large multitudes who
will attend it will be like caged birds
on Sundays in the city of Chicago.
By all means let it be opened on Sun-
day but arrange to have as little
work done therein as possible.
Property in the United States
averages SIOOO for each man woman
and child or SSOOO for the average
American family of five. This is a
very wealthy country according to
the average; but the trouble is that a
very few have most everybody else’s
share.
The Iron Mountain railway spends
thousands—tens of thousands of dol-
lars every year in printed matter.
Nobody supposes that this road is
throwing away any money. It al
ways gets back its money with heavy
interest. Here is a pointer to those
who believe that money spent to ad-
vertise their resources is money wast-
ed.
We heartily endorse the following
from the Helena World: “If in pass-
ing along the road you should meet a
poisonous serpent of some kind you
would crush it. A serpent known as
the “convict lease system" is lying in
thr road barring the progress and ad-
vance of our Slate. Let us tieat it
just as we would the other reptile
crush it.
As civilization advances the cre-
mation of human bodies after death
grows in public favor. This mode of
disposing of the dead has much
to recommend it and little or
nothing for which it can
he condemned except sickly senti-
mentality and superstition. Every
city should have its crematory for in-
cinerating dead bodies.
The Fort Worth Gazette says that
owing to many advertisements of
biographies of James G. Blaine his
wife has been compelled to make a
public statement that no biography
or life of her illustrious husband is
authorized by her. She naturally
feels that bis fame is her legacy and
desires that no incompetent person
should tamper with it.
The Cross County Citizen is a lit-
tle inconsistent in the following: “Is
it not a little strange that Gov. Eagle
could not find out in four yerrs that
so much rascality had been perpetrat-
ed against the taxpayers of the State.
We will say however that there is
no reflection by us upon Gov. Engle
but it seems to us that the ex Govern-
or being honest thought every other
official was also honest.
If a State or county are bound to
have bonds from officers let a law be
passed enabling them to make their
bonds in guarantee companies like
many large railway corporations do.
There can be nothing wrong in this
and private citizens would not then
be liable to heavy losses by defalca-
tions etc. We are opposed to bonds
anyway. Make the law so strike that
every violator will suffer dire punish-
ment and let all bonds go.
Some people claim in spite of the
evidence to the contrary that women
have no faculty for business. A lady
in St Louis recently who concluded
Il was cheaper to move than to pay
rent huug some crape on the front
door to stand off the rent collector
who would naturally wait until the
funeral had taken place. While be
was waiting for the late lamented to
be decently interred the afflicted one
was moving her furniture out of the
back door nnd having it hauled to
another part of the city.

" Until my boy was six years of age lie was

part of his body was one mas* of aorea all

Intense Itching
We cannot tell how that poor boy suffered in
all those years. Physicians did not effect a
cure. At last I decided to give him Hood's
Sarsaparilla as my druggist recommended
it. In about two weeks the Sarsaparilla began
to have effect.. The sores commenced to heal
up; the flesh began to look more natural and
healthy. Thon the scales came off and all over
bls body now and healthy flesh and skin formed.
When lie had taken two bottles ho was entirely
free from seres having only the scars to show
where they had been These have ail disap-
peared. We are unable to express our thanks
