Mrs. Furrh wore a sea green suit
with black accessories -and carried
an orchid on a white Bible. Her
attendant, Elinor Glenn Aldridge,

Navy Lieut. Edward R Dressen
and Mrs Dressen have arrived and
are now ataying at the country
home of his parents, Dr and Mrs.
John R Dressen, near Clyde
Lieutenant Dressen entered the
navy in 1942 and at the time of his
discharge was an eye examiner for
the aviation medicine section at
the naval air station at Jackson-
ville, Fla. Prior to that he had
been stationed at Bainbridge, Md.,
■ for most of the duration. .
Mrs. Dressen is the former Mar-
jorie Brewton, formerly manager vers „, une Lust pattanon and were
and part owner of Station WTOC prisoners of war with Mrs. Ald-
al Savannah, Ga , where Dr. Dres J - • - - - -
sen resided before entering the
service.
He is now on terminal leave,
and on February 1 will go on an
inactive status as a naval reserve
officer He will be associated with
his father in the practice of op-
tometry and in operation of the
Dressen farm. He attended Abi
lene high school, McMurry college
and. Staunton Military Academy,
J. E Smith served Furrh as best
man. Both men were former mem-
bers of the Lost Battalion and were
ridge’s brother, Donald Glenn
Woltz. ,
Following the ceremony the cou-
ple left for a wedding trip to Dal-
las They will live at 408 Peach in
Abilene where Furrh is employed
by the West Texas gas company. ,
Furrh is a graduate of Abilene
high school and received his dis-
charge in September from Fort
Sam Houston Guests for the wed-
ding were families of members of
the 36th. division who were friends
of Furrh, Smith and Woltz.
MRS. L. H BRADFIELD is to

her only son, Marshall Bradfield.

Ann, at Fresno, Calif., going to-
night to Fresno by American Air-
line
Mrs Bradfield, early-day busi-

daughter, Mrs. Bradfield Gay, live

Returning late Saturday
from visiting in Kentucky, Mr.
and Mrs. J. K. (Rufus) Wal-
lingford and young son, John
Rufus, were accompanied by
Mrs. Wallingford’s mother,
Mrs. J. H. Williams, of Bowl-
ing Green, Ky. The Walling-
fords live at Hotel Wooten, of
which he is manager.
Before going to Kentucky
in November, Mrs. Walling-
ford visited with her daugh-
ter. Martha, student in Ran-
dolph Macon college, Lynch-
burg, Va Miss Wallingford
joined her family for the
Christmas season in Ken-
tucky.

Mr and Mrs George C. Sewell
have returned to Abilene from
Dallas where they attended the
Cotton Bowl game. They were ac-
companied on the trip by Mr and
Mrs. R. L.-Shoemake of Sweet-

low. of Hotel Windsor, and
their daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Mrs. Jimmie Barlow 440 Hick-
ory, returned to Abilene early
Sunday from Oregon where
they spent the Christmas and
New Year holidays with Lt.
(jg) Jimmie Barlow.
Making the trip by automo-
bile. the Abilenians traveled'
more than 5,000 miles. They
went first to California, where
they had expected to join Lieu-
tenant Barlow, only to find
that his ship had docked at
Portland.
Mr. and Mrs. H. 0. Carson
and son, Bobby Joe. 4, have
returned to their Elmwood
home, 9141 Albany, after hav-
ing lived away from Abilene
for two years while Carson was
serving in the Army. They
came to Abilene from Gates-
ville, where Mrs Carson and
son lived while Carson was sta-
tioned at Camp Hood.

Mr. and Mrs Lee W. Dail, who
went last week to Denver, Colo., to
enroll as students in the Univer-
sity of Denver after having visited
here with Mrs. Dail's parents. Dr.
and Mrs L. F Johnson, J399 Aus-
tin, have an apartment at the home
of a former Abilenian, Mrs W. C.
Montell, and Mr Montell, they have
notified the Johnsons. Mrs. Mon-
tell was the former Mrs. J. 0.
Grundy, Abilene resident for many
years. Dail, who received his dis-
charge from the air corps too late
to enter the University of Colo,
rado, as he hid planned, is a stu-
dent instead in the Denver univer-
sity.
