The camera catches June Clark in mid-sneeze while her wor-

year-old Miami, Fla., girl, sneezing at a steady rate of several
times a minute since January 4, made the trip on doctor’s sug-
gestions that a change of climate might help in halting the
sneezing.
Ennis Public Library Cites Gov.
Connally’s Emphasis to Special Week
Ennis Public Library authori- and a layman—Atty. J. Bryan
Ennis Public Library authori-
ties point out that Governor
John Connally has proclaimed
April 17 - 23 Library Week in
Texas and urged all Texans to
become better acquainted with
the services and needs of their
libraries.
The observance which is
marked annually throughout the
U. S. has assumed a unique as-
pect in Texas this year. It has
been closely related to activities
surrounding the First Texas
Governors Conference on Li-
braries which was attended re-
cently in Austin by more than
2,000 persons.
Governor Connally proclaim-
ed the observance as part o f
the conference program a n d
called attention to the fact that
150 post-conferences meeting to
discuss local library problems
were scheduled. In many com-
munities, these meetings are
being held during Library
Week.
The statewide organization
for local meetings follows the
structure of the organization for
Library Week which includes a
professional librarian, Miss
Elizabeth Karle, state library
field consultant stationed in
Abilene, as executive director,

The full text of Gov. Connal-

“Texas libraries today face
their greatest challenge in his-
tory. The demand for books, fa-
cilities and services in this dy-
namic age of change is growing
faster than it can be met./
“Library Excellence: Today's
Necessity,” the theme for the
First Texas Governor’s Confer-
ence on Libraries, epitomizes
the goal and the immediate need
“The plans for 150 post-con-
ference meetings to discuss lo-
cal library problems demon-
strate the determination of
Texans to study and meet the
needs of their libraries.
‘It is hoped that each Texan
will visit his library and see for
himself the partnership it has
with the public—a partnership
which provides cultural and

part, to the Caseys from sweet
little MRS. M. B. MOSELEY who,
with her husband, recently mov-
ed from here to 5607 Longview
St., Dallas, Texas, 75206.
Dear Friends, Just wanted you
to know that we wait eagerly
each day for the Ennis Daily
News. It is like getting letters
from many friends at one time.
We are very happy in our new
set-up. Every one has been so
nice to us. The church has made
us feel so very much at home.
And it is a delight to have our
children near us. But Ennis will
always be a sweet, wonderful
place to us and we will be com-
ing back often. We think of you
often. Your friendship will al-
ways be one of our treasured
possessions. Come to see us. Our
kindest regards to the office
force.” The rest of the letter is
about the Daily News issue
they missed between the time
they moved and the time the
Daily News started coming to
them. She wants it, too, of
course, she said.
