A WASHINGTON, April 20.—A letter
from Presidout Coolidge was intro-
duced to the Daughters of the Ameri-
ena Revolution’s blacklist controversy
today in an effort to show that the
president recently, indorsed one of the
institutions mentioned in the alleged
list of individuals and organisations
the society held to be undesirable. '
Appearing before the resolutions
committee of the society's biennial
convention, Mrs. Helen Tufts Baille
of Boston, submitted a photostatie
copy of the president’s letter, dated
March 23, 1928, which endorsed the
work of the Ford Hall Forum.
This institution was proscribed on
a copy of one of two alleged black-
lists which Mrs. Bailie also submitted
tg the committee.
The letter of Mr. Coolidge was ad-
dressed to George W. Coleman, direc-
tor of the Ford Hall Forum at Bee-
ten. and read:
“It gives me great pleasure to join
your friends, who upon the occasion
of its twentieth anniversary, will be
and unselfish service to founding and
directing the Ford Hall Forum.
“It has been a vital influence In
Boston and a good example for other
communities. I hope it may be main-
tained under year guiding hand for
many years to come.”

705 scholastic* for the 1928-29 school
year wa. reported following the re-
cently completed school census here.
At present, there are 674 scholastics.
According to Superintendent C. H.
Dillehay, this survey indicates the
smallest growth in the Hereford inde-
pendent school district for many
years.
