“THIS is MY PTH BIRTHDAY”
Sir Albert de Rutsen, the aged nap-
istrate of the famous Bow Street
court, before, whom Dr. Crippen, the
American dentist, will soon be tried
for the alleged murder of his wife, was
born September 7, 1831, and received
his education at Eton and Cambridge.
He became a barrister in 11857 and
soon arose to prominence in the legal
profession. After several years as a
magistrate for Merthyr Tydal he be-
came a metropolitan police magistrate
in London in 1876. He presided sue-
cessively in the courts of the Maryto-
bone, Westminster and Marlborough
street districts until 1901, since which
time he has filled the position of chief
magistrate of the metropolitan police
courts.

The visiting minister of the Christian
church. Rev. Grant made a good talk
on "Schools of Fifty Years Ago and
the Schools of Today,** which was
very helpful to all. There were other
good talks. Every boy and girl had
a bright face and seemed ready for a
good year's work. With the corps of
teachers we have we are contemplat-
Ing a better school than ever before.
The chapel being, packed and many
standing, attested to the high interest
that is taken in our school by the
people of Iowa Park.
