Winn’s Store Here
Continuing Efforts
In Refurbishing
Winn’s Department Store
in Goldthwaite has been in
a sprucing-up process for
two weeks. Over 40 men
from central and south
Texas are remodeling, re-
. laying counter displays and
building new fixtures.
According to Thomas
Bebee, regional supervisor
of over 64 stores, the reno-
vation will be completed by
Wednesday, June 30th.
“We hope to be an asset to
the community,” Bebee
said, “and we plan to offer
a full variety of items at the
Goldthwaite store.”
He further explained that
because of limited space, an
average store usually some
12 thousand square feet,
compared to giants of over
44 thousand square feet, not
all items that are offered in
this type of operation can
be housed. He then pointed
out that Miss Gala Gray,
manager, has unlimited
access to items not display-
ed, and special request
orders may be had.
Larry Adams, District
Superintendent of over 16
stores, added, “We regret
that this store hasn’t been
in first class appearance,”
adding, “yet I would like to
offer my profound thanks to
Goldthwaite shoppers for
their patience and support.”
Spelled out, business has
been excellent.
Adams offered assurances
that the work, to be
completed by Wednesday,
will render the store a
pleasant place to shop, with
items all neatly arrayed, all
in excellent lighting.
The new look and added
volume will “save people
from going out of town for
their needs”, as he put it.
On prices, Adams said
“They are comparable to
major city communities, the
same as those found in
Austin, San Antonio and
elsewhere.
A grand opening, accord-
ing to Miss Gala Gray, will
be held from July 1st
through July 10th. A color
TV will be given away, as
well as a gala bevy of other
prizes.
