Ask Bankruptcy Law.
An involuntary petition in bank-
ruptcy has been filed with the clerk
of the federal court against Joseph
D. Richie, a merchant tailor of San
Antonio, by four alleged creditors
who charge that the concern of which
Richie is the head has committed
three acts of bankruptcy in that he
has paid a certain creditor with the
intent to prefer that creditor over
others. The petitioning creditors are
the Peerless Coat Front company of
Chicago, who allege a judgment of
$220.19; Lawrence M. Stein Com-
pany of Chicago, who claim that they
are due on open account, $113.09:
the Eastman Machine company of
Buffalo, claim that they are credi-
tors on open account of the sum of
$130.21; and M. Lowenstein and
Sons, Inc., of New York, allege an
indebtedness on open account of
$155.58. The petition alleges that
J. D. Richie committed acts of
bankruptcy in that on three different
dates he made payment of $25 to
the United States Huffman Machin-
ery Corporation with the intent to
prefer that creditor over others.

Women of U. S., First
in Style, Rain Looks
by Tense Expression
New York, July 6.—The Amer-
ican woman, the best dressed, the
most handsome and the most sen-
sible woman in the world, ruins
her charm and her attraction by
a tensity which is always apparent
in her face Dr. Roberta Wimer-
Ford, of Seattle, said today at the
annual convention of the Ameri-
can osteopathic association.
“The great majority of Ameri-
can women spoil their natural
good looks by their strained ex-
pressions,” she said.
The only remedy she stated, is
good health, steady nerves and a
correct diet.
Dr. P. P. Millard, of Toronto,
advocated corsets and golf for
men, as the great correctives for
creaky joints.
The R. O. T. C., camp is under the
command of Maj. Clinton W. Rus-
sell. Friday morning was the first
