One of the most outstanding serv-
ices of Zenith Cleaners, Second and
Elm Sts., is shirt laundering. Be-
cause they know bow particular
men are of their dress shirts. Zen-
ith does every thing possible to
turn out perfectly laundered shirts.
Zenith features quality rather
than quantity. All shirts are wash-
ed in an automatic Monell washer
of stainless steel in a formula set
up by a national company. The
cleaning substance baa ingredients
that do the best washing and
bleaching Job and actually gives
longer life to the shirts.
Some men like starch and lots
of it while others prefer none at
all. Customers of Zenith may get
the amount of starch they want in
their shirts by specifying no
starch, regular starch, or heavy
starch.
The starch used at Zenith is sold
only to professional laundries and
was recently advertised in Life
magazine.
After the shirts have been washed
and starched, they are sent to the
laundry machines for finishing.
At Zenith they have special ma-
chines for every part of the shirt.
The sleeves are finished on a ma-
chine made especially for sleeves
and it will not break buttons or
tear the shirt at the cuffs and
shoulders.
After the sleeves have been iron-
ed. the collar and cuffs are fin-
ished on a machine so arranged
that when the collar is ironed it
is smooth, even when buttoned.
Then the back of the shirt is
finished on the yoke machine and
the front and remainder of the
shirt are ironed on the buson ma-
chine. The shirt is then placed on
a special collar machine where
all buttons are checked and small
repairs made and from there to
the automatic professional folding
machine where the shirt is again
inspected for packaging.
If any buttons are missing, they
are replaced. Theron Guffey, own-
er, says that anyone getting a shirt
back from Zenith with a missing
button can have the shirt relaun-
dered at Zenith free of charge.
Heavy paper rather than card-
board is inserted in the shirts
during the folding process and a
collar stay Is inserted to give the
collar body. This heavy brown pa-
per rolls with the entire body of the
shirts, thus eliminating creases in
a freshly laundered shirt
Shirts are then packaged accord-
ins to the number of shirts in the
order using, a small shell for one
or two shirts, and a larger shell
for more shirts.
All shirts in an order are count-
ed when received at the plant or
picked up at the customer's home
and the shirts are listed on the
order aa to colors and rnakea to
eliminate errors. At Zenith they
use no ugly marks in shirts to
identify them.
Zenith launders shirts in small
lots, making handling easier and
with less damage to the shirts.
Zenith feels that they can offer
more for your money with their
shirt laundering service and with
continued use of this service the
life of your shirts will be prolonged.
One trial will convince anyone that
thia is true.
Zenith's one stop service saves
you time. It is the place where you
can get topnotch cleaning and laun-
dry service. All of Zenith clean-
ing and laundry service is avail-
able over the routes, at the main
plant, at the sub-station in Elm-
wood West and by night deposit
In about two weeks Zenith will
install a new sleever for the fin-
ishing of shirts, enabling them
to increase quality production.
Bring your shirts to Zenith Clean-
ers for when they launder your
shirts they stay fresh from 9 to 5
plus.
