pleaded guilty Monday in County
Court to drunk driving and check |
swindling.
He was fined $100 and sentenced I
to the mandatory three days in
jail on the drunk driving charge I
and given five days in jail for
check swindling.
Price was one of four persons |
entering pleas of guilty before!
County Judge Reed Ingalsbe. The 1
other three cases were for check I
swindling.
Pleading guilty to check swin- |
dling and their fines and court
costs were:
E. E. Caraway, 2965 Russell
Ave., $37.80; I L. Anderson, San
Angelo, $41.20; and Mrs. W G.
Singleton, Irving, $46.20.
Of 13 cases originally set for
trial in County Court Monday,
five were dismissed, four were con-
tinued. one reset for trial May 24,
and the three pleas of guilty en-
tered.
The cases dismissed were all for
check swindling. The dismissals
and reason for not prosecuting
were:
William L Richardson, 1209 Lil-
ius St., insufficient evidence:
George B Witt, 1258 Jefferson
Dr.: Mrs Marjorie A. Berg, 1930
North Fifth St . and Brian Mc-
Kinzie. 689 EN’ 18th St. all dis-
missed because of no intent to de-
fraud.
Cases continued were:
Simona Gragiola, 141# Plum St.
two charges of possession of whis-
ky for sale: Harry Blackburn Tay- '
lor and Louise Stewart, charged
jointly with possession of beer for
sale; and Winston Phillips, 766 Cy-
press St., accused of contributing
to the delinquency of a minor.

honorary degrees at spring com-
mencement exercises May 27, col-

The 71st annual convention of
the Texas Bankers Assn. in Fort
Worth was attended by five Abi-
lene bankers Monday.
They are Walter Johnson, presi-
dent, and E. M Perkins, execu-

Bank; Malcolm Meek, president,
and Joe Benson, executive vice
president, both of Citizens Nation-
al Bank; and Briggs Todd, presi-
