Baby’s Cry Saves
Brother In Icebox
DETROIT (n—Missing for two
hours, 4-year-old Gary Patterson
was found jammed between two
narrow shelves when his mother
opened the refrigerator Thursday
to get a bottle of milk.
Nine-days-old baby sister Linda
had cried for food. This may have
saved Gary’s life.
The boy’s disappearance had
touched off a police search.
"He was frothing at the mouth
when I found him," Mrs. Thomas
Patterson said.
Taken to a nearby hospital, Gary
was warmed and sent home.
He couldn't explain how he
wedged himself tote the narrow
shelf space but he insisted:
"Somebody shut the door on
me."

A. G. Pinson has been named
district plant superintendent of
Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
for Abilene and nine other ex-
changee in this vicinity.
He replaces Ward K. Wilkinson,
who is to be district plant super-
intendent in Beaumont.
Pinson, a graduate of Texas A&M
College, began his telephone career
to Houston in 1949. He served in
various capacities there until his
promotion to supervising installa-
lion foreman to Beaumont early
this year.
Wilkinson, who held the district
post here for two years, attended
high school in Dublin, Tex. He
graduated from Texas Christian
University in 1939.
He started with the telephone
company as a lineman in Lubbock
to 1940.
