Honored at Tea in Woman’s Club
Mrs W K Jennings Sr and Miss
Genelle Jennings hosted a tea
Saturday afternoon in the Woman's
Club honoring Janice Jennings,
bride-elect of Gordon Asbury.
Receiving guests the first hour
were Mrs. Marvin Lewis, Mrs. W.
K. Jennings, Miss Genelle Jen-
nings, Mrs Leroy Jennings Sr.,
mother of the honoree. Miss Jen-
nings, and Mrs. G. G. Asbury Sr.,
mother of the prospective bride-
groom.
Mrs. T E. Roberts headed the
receiving line the second hour.
Refreshments were served from
a table laid with a white cutwork
cloth and centered with white ta-
pers and red roses.
Mrs. L. A. Lacy registered
guests the first hour and Mrs. W.
0 Beasley, the second.
Inviting guests to the dining
room the first hour was Mrs Floyd
Lowe and the second hour, Mrs.
J. C. Crownover and Mrs. Oscar
Rose.
Two groups alternated in serving.
They included Mrs Morey Miller-
man and Mrs L. H Beckham;
Mrs. Elwin Skiles and Mrs. John
Alvis. Assisting in the dining room
during the tea hours were Mrs

COTILLION CLUB TO
PRESENT BELLES --
The Cotillion Club of Abilene will introduce eight
Christmas Belles in formal presentation in the Abilene
Country Club during the evening of Dec. 27.

Christmas Carol Program Given
At Woman’s Club Luncheon
One hundred-eighty members and
guests attended the regular Friday
luncheon at the Woman's .Club to
bear a Christmas carol program
by Mrs Jack Stroube. .
"Christmas as Told by the
Carols" was the theme ol the cum
bination of Mrs Stroube’s telling
of the carols and a duo, Mrs E. L.
Preston and Mrs. Joe Reynolds,
singing them Mrs. * cube was
too piano accompanest.
Mrs. Mason Altman introduced
the speaker who was presented by
the Bible Department of the Club.
Chairman of the host committee
was Mrs. J. C. Hunter Sr. Com
nittee members were Mrs. J. C.
Hunter Jr., Mrs. Elwin Skiles. Mrs.

Awarded in Show
Tri-color awards that were made
to the Garden Gate Club of Abi-
lene Christmas show and tea held
Thursday evening at Holiday
House, home of Ur. and Mrs Guy

in sn antique vase were used for
decorations. The vase was a gift
to Mrs. W. K Jennings, grand
mother of the bride-elect, st her
wedding in Abilene in 1896.
The honoree wore a dress of
aqua blue taffeta embroidery with
a corsage of red roses.

annual Christmas breakfast at 6
o’clock Friday morning to the
home of Beth Myatt, sponsor
After the early morning break

more, led the singing and also sang
a special number. “O Holy Night."
