TO PLAY HERE DEC. 27 — The Aggieland Band from
Texas A&M College will play for the Aggie Christmas
Dance here Dec. 27 at the VFW ballroom beginning at 9
pm The dance is sponsored annually by the Central West
Texas A&M Club. Advance ticket sale is being conducted
by Bill Sayles. Tickets are $4.50 a couple and available
from any A&M Club member. The Aggieland Band, di-
rected by Bill Turner, features Rocky Arnold as soloist.
Arnold is pictured seated, wearing a tuxedo, and at right

students were united in marriage
at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon in
the College Church of Christ Chap-
el. Betty Lois Carter of Bartles-
ville, Okla., became the bride of
Theodore Whedon Colby Jr.
The bride is the deughter of Mr.
and Mrs William Taylor Carter,
Bartlesville. He officiated for the
double ring ceremony. Mr. end

of Evansville, Ind., were united in
marriage by Dr. Sterling L Price,
pastor of the University Baptist
Church where the ceremony was
held.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs Sam G. Houston Sr., 2497

groom are Mr and Mrs Paul A.
Lantrip Sr of Jasper, Ala.
Altar decorations included white
tapers, baskets of white gladioli,
poinsettias and a white kneeling
bentfl banked with greenery.
Johnny Campbell, student at
Hardin-Simmons University, played
the organ Paul Royal sang "The
Voice That Breathed O’er Eden"
and “The Lord’s Prayer."
Sam G. Houston Jr., brother of
the bride from Stephenville, and
Noel Rogers, brother-in-law of the
bride, ushered. Best man was
loped edged sleeves. The bouffant
skirt was styled with tieres of tulle.
She wore matching lace mitts and
hat which was edged with a band
of starched tulle She carried a
sheath of long stemmed red Duch-
ess roses.
For the wedding, the bride's
mother wore a champagne chan-
tilly lace dress with matching
Jeweled satin hat, white kid gloves
and a corsage of garnet red rose-
buds.
At the reception in the home of
the bride’s parents, the table was
laid in white and centered with an
open white Bible encircled with red
roses and white mums Appoint-
ments were in crystal. The three
tiered wedding cake was topped
with miniature lace wedding bells
William Loyd Bixler of Sweetwa-
ter, uncle of the bride, gave her
in marriage. Best man was Leon-
dous Fry of Brownwood. Mrs, Car-
ole Webb was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Pat Carter of
Bartlesville, sister of the bride,
end Marilyn Cotner of Broken Ar-
row, Okle. Richard Ivey and Lu-
ther Ray Thomas were grooms-
men.
Sue Ann Bixler of Sweetwater,
cousin of the bride, was flower girl
and Mark McCoy, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald McCoy of Bartlesville,
was ring bearer. Candles were
lighted by Roeemary Blakeley end
-Marilyn Colby, lister of the bride-
groom.

were ushers
The nuptial setting was formed
of greenery with feather trees at
each aide of the altar. Wedding
bells centered the arrangement of
graduated candles.
Edna Beth Clevenger, cousin of
the bridegroom, sang “I Love
Thee" by Greig. Soloe by Tommy
Webb and Carolyn Farris were "I
Pledge My Love" by Hudleson and
’Thine Alone" by Herbert. Bene-
diction wes “The Lord Bless You
and Keep You."

ding trip to Mexico City and Ace-
pulco, the bride wore a black Dior
"H" line suit with black accesso-
ries and a white broadtail hat. Her
corsage was of green orchids.

Mrs Lantrip is a graduate of
Hardin-Simmons and received so
MS degree from Oklahoma A&M
College. She was a member of the
H-SU Cowgirls, the University Sym-
phony Orchestra and the Cowgirl
Band. She was head of the home
economica department at the uni-
versity and taught at North Junior
High School. At present she is di-
rector of Whirlpool-Seeger Home
Economics laboratory' She is s
member of Eastern Star, Quota
Club, Toastmistress, Beta Sigma
Phi and the American Home Eco-
nomics Association
Lantrip attended the University
of Alabama and graduated from
Auburn He is a member of Phi
Delta Theta fraternity and Sales
Executive Club. He served as a
lieutenant colonel in the Medical
Administration Corps during the
i war He has been with Mead John-
son and Co. since 1940 and is at
present their western sales man-
ager He previously lived to Dallas
white Bible by the bride. She wore
a gown of chantilly type lace fash-
ioned over taffeta. The low neck-
line was outlined with lace ap-
plique. Bodice featured . long
sleeves and the skirt extended into
1 chapel train. The dress was light-
ly jeweled with pearls and irides-
cent sequins that matched the brid-
al bonnet, a pill box covered with
lace and sequins.
