Just as costume jewelry adds character and
change-of-face to a woman’s ensemble, accessories
highlight and give the finishing touch to room decora-
tion, affording the homemaker a chance to express her
tastes in wall arrangements and table decor. Even more
important, accessories give a room a refreshing new look
without replacing major pieces of furniture.
Ways of using accessories are countless, but one of
the best is to dramatize tables, chests, or fireside walls
with group decorations arranged either symmetrically
or asymmetrically. They should be related in scale and
color to the furnishings they complement.
There's a wide variety of decorative accessories de-
signed with imagination and elegance. Note particularly
the interesting ways brass and wrought iron, glass and
ceramics, and natural-colored woods are used. Here’s
inspiration for the woman who wants to give her home
a special flavor—easily and inexpensively.
