You need special light
ever work centers!
If your husband i« one of those men who set-
tle down after a good dinner (cooked elec-
trically, of course!), and shortly after, he’s
nodding over his newspaper or book... it
isn’t necessarily a reflection on your com-
panionship, Dear Lady...but it may be a
reflection on the way your home is lighted.
If only his paper is brightly illuminated,
and the rest of the room is in comparative
gloom... you're inviting eyestrain and fa-
tigue, and a dozing—though doting—hus-
band!
Good general lighting, as well as special
lighting for localized reading, writing, and
sewing areas can be yours now... whether
your home is old or new. Right now, you can
plan better light for better sight in many
wonderful ways. Supplement your living
room lamps with fluorescent light from con-
cealed wall-to-wall valences in the modern
manner. With good general illumination, you
can change every room in your home from
gray to gay!
Bridesmaids were Misses
Gloria Ann Bendy of TSCW,
Denton, and Minnie Merle
Meinke. Miss Bendy wore
blue taffeta with matching net '
hat and carried a bouquet of
orchid chrysanthemums while
Miss Meinke wore orchid taf-
feta with matching net hat and
carried yellow chrysanthe-
mums.
Little Mary Susan Jatzlau
of Houston served as flower
girl, wearing pink taffeta and
net and a pink bow in her
hair. She carried a basket of
pink taffeta and net.
The bride’s attendants wore
necklaces which were gifts of
the bride.
Leslie H. Tilley of Corpus
Christi was the groom’s best
man. Serving as ushers were
Arthur Von Minden Jr. and
Werner Zimmermann.
The bride’s mother was at-
tired in navy blue, and the
groom’s mother wore black.
Both had corsages of pink
carnations.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride’s parents.
The home was decorated with
baskets of chrysanthemums.
The bride’s lace laid table held
a centerpiece of white chry-
santhemums. The wedding
cake, a three-tiered cOnfec-
tion, was embossed with pink
roses and green leaves and was
topped with a miniature bride
and groom. It was placed on a
mirror reflector encircled with
net. Miss Ruth Wiemken of
Austin served the cake. A
delicious barbecue chicken
supper was served to 80
guests who were registered by
Miss Mildred Wiemken of
Austin.
For the wedding trip to San
Antonio and other points, the
bride selected a burgundy
suit with navy blue shoes and
bag and pink hat and gloves.
The couple will make their
home in Houston where both
are employed. They are 1950
graduates of the La Grange
high school. , ,
