Veterans Hospital
HOUSTON.—As a result of an in-
vitation from the manager of the
Veterans' hospital at Tuskegee, Prof.
R. M. Catchings, principal of the
White Oak Junior high school has
been granted a leave of absence
and is making a trip to the hospital
at Tuskegee.
His brother, C. C. Catchings, a
patient in the hospital, is' to be
included in a group of patients who
will be given a special new treat-
ment and the authorities require a
personal conference with the near-
est relative before the patient is
given the treatment. Catchings hopes
that his decision may bring health
and happiness to his brother.

HOUSTON.—In a letter to the In-
former, E. M. Martin, chairman of
the auditing committee of the Hughes
Tool club, stated- that President
Guess of the club was in error
when he said that they were preju-
diced “in making their audit and
report of the funds of the club. Mr.
Martin stated that he was not
nrejudiced against Mr. Guess and
did not feel that any of the other
members of the committee were "We
did not call any of the officiate in
while we were auditing the books
because we were auditing the books
and not the officiate,’’ stated Mr.
Martin. He continued, saying. “We
called on the officiate for whatever
information we needed from them."
He stated that he had been chairman
of the committee for three years
and was always friendly toward the
officers of the club.
