Lutheran school sign-up set
- Immanuel Lutheran Pre-K and
School will be hosting registration on
Tuesday, August 7, school officials
report.
There are limited openings in Pre-
K, Kindergarten, and first, second and
third grades.
Sign up will run from 5 :30 p.m. to 7
p.m. at the school Social Hall, located
on the corner of Washington and

Mrs. Virginia Guzman is director
and teacher of Pre-K and Kindergar-
ten. Mrs. Lorri Marchant teachers

school motto is “Growing Children in
Mind and Christ.”
The purpose of Immanuel
Lutheran School is to provide a Chris-
tian education for the children of
Mercedes and surrounding commu-
nities. The school provides a strong
academic foundation while teaching
the Christian faith and encouraging
the children to live that faith in the
classroom, in the home and wherever
they go.

died Saturday, July 28.
Born January 6,1953, he was mar-

Mercedes Baskets Full,
a distribution agency of the
Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley,
serves low-income food needs of the
Mercedes area. On average 230
families are helped monthly,
consisting of 500 adults and 475
children.
The Pantry is primarily supported
by private donations from individuals.
Your gift cam make a difference between
a child going to school hungry or arriving at
school fed. Your generosity enables elderly
persons in our community to purchaase needed
medicine and pay utility bills without worrying
about having money for food.
