JROTC Selects Cadet of the Month - Mercedes High School JROTC Tiger Battalion recently conducted a
Cadet of the Month board to select the top cadet in their 1st year of leadership education. Jonathan Perez, son of Julio
Perez and Beatrice Miranda was selected as the winner. Cadet Perez competed against other cadets in the areas of mili-
tary bearing, appearance, and knowledge of military and leadership subjects. The cadets appeared before a selection
panel of three members consisting of Cadet Battalion Executive Officer Amy Torres, Cadet Supply Officer Linda Luna
and Cadet Sergeant Major Ismael Hernandez. Cadet Perez is an outstanding cadet who is active in many school support
events and is also a member of the Tiger Drill Team.
