The spicy Brinkley Mirror utters
our sentiments exactly in the fol-
lowing: Give us free coinage free
trade and an income tax and Sena-
tor Berry.
Every Ameri;an bachelor will
drink to the hea hos Miss Virginia
Fair the charming heiress who
“has always said she'would marry
an American.” —[Post Dispatch.
Like Senator Mills we are unal-
terably opposed to our unjust tar-
iff system and would ‘convert every
custom house in the country into a
school house.’ Free trade outright
will have to come sooner or later
and the quicker the better.
While the tariff law now being
considered in Congress has never
been all that Democracy demanded
still it is a good measure and a great
improvement over the McKinley
iniquity. With its passage better
times will prevail and the country
prosper as she has not done in many
a day.
The adjournment of the Berlin
silver commission without any deci-
sive action looking to an interna-
tional conference is not looked upon
as a step backwards by free silver
advocates. It is claimed that the
acts of the commission will serve to
call attention to the necessity for
an international agreement.
The incorrigible and always spicy
Helena World pertinently remarks:
“Having tried the open letter sys-
tem the patent medicine device
the primary boomerang and several
other equally ineffective fake meth-
ods of advertising himself as a great
statesman Governor Fishback will
[take the stump.” The “patent
[ medicine statesman” is having a
' mighty hard road to travel and
■it wont get any easier. Berry is
' certainly invincible.
The Gazette says: “The people of
Arkansas have made up their minds
Ito re-elect Berry to the Senate. In
his stumping tour of the state there
■is nohting left for Fishback to ap-
peal to except seventeen year lo-
custs.” If the Governor can find
any consolation in that let him talk
all he wants to. We will bet our
office towels that he steers clear of
Jackson county on his tirade over
the state scratching for cheap po-
litical grub worms. Probably he
could convert The Texarkanian. or
the Helena World. — [Newport
Herald.
The last sentence above is most
too ironical. We hardly think the
“patent medicine statesman” will
visit either Texarkana or Helena.
This county went unanimously .for
Berry—not a single vote in the con-
vention for Fishback. his name not
having been mentioned.
There is more catarrh in this sec-
tion of the country than all other
diseases put together and un+il the
last few years was supposed to be
incurable. For a great many years
doctors pronounced it a local dis
ease and prescribed local remedies
and by constantly failing to cure
with local treatment pronounced
it incurable. Science has proven
catarrh to be a constitutional dis-
ease and therefore requires consti-
tutional treatment. Hall’s Catarrh
Cure manufactured by F. J. Chen-
ey & Co. Toledo Ohio is the only
constitutional remedy on the mar-
ket. It is taken internally in doses
from 1(1 drops to a teaspoonful. It
acts directly on the blood and mu-
cous surfaces of the system. They
offer one hundred dollars for any
case it fails to cure. Send for cir-
culars and testimonials. Address

Elegance is one thing and strength
