Evani the Republican claimant
for the Governor's place in Tennes-

was all the yvay from 700 to 1100.
He was voted for by the crap

by "7 or 11.”

verify this if he had not resisted
the officers and been put to sleep

Till legislature should make an
appropriation for an exhibit at At-

be thousands of people there who
may wish to change their location
and a good exhibit will work won-

San Antonio Texas has taken
the lead in putting down extortion-
ate prices. The City Council has
passed an ordinance prohibiting
physicians from mailing their
charges more than a dollar inside
the city limits. This was brought
about by a consultation with the.
doctors who acquiesced before the
bill was drawn.
The Fair Grounds at Hope of
the Southwestern Arkansas Asso-
ciation are advertised to be sold
Feb. 2nd under foreclosure of mort-
gage. We regret very much to
note this fact. A series of misfor-
tunes have followed in quick succes-
sion. The Hora! hall was demolish-
ed by a cyclone and soon after it
was rebuilt it was totally consumed
by lire. This together with the fi-
nancial panic has been the cause
of the annual fair being abandoned.

A New York Judge has decided
that if a passenger drops his fare on
the floor of the car he has paid his
fare as the money or its equiva-
lent is in the company's possession.
This would give a great chance to
swindlers both in and out of the
j company's employ to knock down.
’ We don’t think the decision would
