CORBETT-FITZSIMMONS FIGHT
Lanky Bob Wants His Share of the (
Rake Off From Privileges.
Chicago September 11th. The
Inter-Ocean this morning prints a
story in which it is said that Fitz i
simraons has declared that he will ■
refuse to meet Champion Corbett
in Dallas unless he is “let in” on
certain concessions on which he be-
lieves a large amount of money will
be realized. It is said that he ac-
cused Brady Corbett Joe Vendig
and Stuart of Dallas of gobbling
up everything in sight from the
lemonade stand to the kinteoscope
with which it is intended to repro-1
duce the fight throughout the coun-
try. It is the latter concession that
Rob is especially jealous of and itl
is said that he has made a formall
demand for a percentage of the I
profits on it otherwise he declares
that there will be u<> fight.

Bailey Carroll a White Man Arrest-
ed for Selling Whiskey With-
out License.
On the day the Wild West show
exhibited here a young man by the
name of Dowd filled up on “bug
juice" and played “big Indian.”
He made a picture ot himself as a
Wild Westerner. He was taken up
ind it was learned that he purchas-
ed his whiskey from Bailey Carroll
i countryman living two miles
from this city. Will Dowd a broth-
er came in and made an affidavit
against Carroll and he was arrest-
ed and carried before
Squire Posey Hudgins and
placed under a $250 bond to answer
the charge of selling whiskey con-
trary to local option laws. The
case will be heard on the 21st of
the month.
A Youthful Barber.
A few days ago Mr. Ed F. Burke
brought his son Master Clem down
town and had the barber cut and
trim his hair. It so impressed his
youthful mind that on yesterday
the idea took full possession of him
to play barber. He procured his
mother’s shears and induced his
younger sister Lillian to act as
his subject and the two being off
in a room to themselves the dis-1
closure of their doings while pro-1
[vokingto the parents could noti
keep from bringing down the house I
with side spliting laughter. Miss
l Lillian had a nice suit of golden
hair and her mother had spared
1 neither pains or expense in keeping
it in a healthy condition and what I
she had been working on the past i
two years was all undone in a short i
space of time. When the children
made their appearance before the
mother her consternation was a
wonder to them. Thd boy had cut
I away every lyck close to the scalp
with the exception of a top knot
' which he had used as a handhold
during his cutting. The sequel to
the story can be better imagined
41 14- : f.v
than described. It is safe to say
that Clem has given up the idea of
hanging out his shingle as a tonso-
; rial artist.
