DENTISTRY.
Dentistry is a profession in which
it requires time for one to become
proficient. Futhennore it requires
several years for a dentist to
establish his professional ability in
the estimation of the public. For
how often have you seen dental
work which seemed to be perfect
but alas was soon broken down.
Knowing the above to be true and
feeling that the people of Texar-
kana also realize this to be a fact 1
governed myself accordingly been
in the practice of my profession 15
or 18 years taken private instruc-
tions for 18 months spent three
years ii> a reputable dental college
preparing to meet the demands of
an appreciative public. Neverthless;
1 sought not “when I located ini
Texarkana six months ago" to i
entice you in my office to gain your j
confidence or obtain your money by
the low unprofessional “Chep John"
method of advertising neither have
I performed hasty inferior work
out of cheap material in order to 1
give the people “Cheap John work.
Nor have I represented myself to
be a "noted dentist" ora “superior; i
workman." I left that forthose who
patronized me to say; they finding i
me worthy. Those whoresort to the 1 1
above method ot advertising not
only place themselves where they 11
are not recognized by the dental
profession but are debared from
membership in all of the societies.
Or in other words they are what j
the union or laboring people call I
scalis. True 1 was not over run
with woYk at the beginning but my ]
practice has been with the better i
class of people and has steadily in- f
creased until my time is almost i
occupied. Th inking those who have
so liberally patronized me and 1
hoping in the future to become;
acquainted with the people of
Texarkana and surrounding country .
ever proving worthy of thier con-
fidence and patronage.
I am respectfully

Broad Street to be Paved.
We were talking to a gentleman
yesterday and he informed us that
as soon as spring opened up and
the weather permitted that ar
raingement would be made to pave
Broad street provided that every
body would do their part. We then
asked him what they were expected
to do? He said that the only way
to do a thing was to do it right
and be sure to get the best of every-
thing and the only way to do this
was to buy your Drugs from

Gladness Comes
With a better understanding of the
transient nature of the many phys-
; leal ills which vanish before proper ef-
forts—gentle efforts —pleasant efforts—
I rightly directed. There is comfort in
the knowledge that so many forms of
I sickness are not due to any actual dis-
ease but simply to a constipated condi-
tion of the system which the pleasant
family laxative. Syrupof Figs prompt-
ly removes. That is why it is the only
remedy with millions of families and is
everywhere esteemed so highly by all
who value good health. Its beneheial
effects are due to the fact that it is the
one remedy which promotes internal
ciernliness without debilitating the
organs on which it acts. It is therefore
till important in order to get its bene-
ficial effects to note when you pur-
chase that yon have the genuine article
which is manufactured by the California
Fig Syrup Co. only and sold by nil rep-
utable druggists.
if in the enjoyment of good health
and the system is regular then laxa-
tives or other remedies are not.neciled.
If afflicted with any actual disease one
may tie commended to the most skillful
physicians but if in need of a laxative
then one should have the best and with
the well-informed everywhere. Syrupof
Figs stands highest nnd is most largely
used and gives most general satisfaction.
