character were offered but all were
voted down and the bill passed as It
was submitted by the majority of
the House committee on railroads.
The bill divides the state Into
three divisions each of which shall
furnish a commissioner. The three
commissioners are to be elected for
their first terms at II joint session
ol the Legislature. Each commis-
sioner shall receive a salary ot
|25(1() per annum and the commis-
sion shall employ a secretary at a
salary not to exceed |1200 per an-
num and a clerk at a salary not to
exceed I'.IOO per annum. Discrimi-
