gravings of many of our Generals
and ships and scenes in Cuba and

ROBERTS ITEMS.
We are feeling thankful to the
giver all good for a very refreshing
rain which is falling now—rain was
badly needed.
Health very good.
Items of interest not numerous.
Mr. Lee Armstrong who I spoke
of in my last as being quite sick is
recovering nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Roberts re-
turned from Dalby Springs last
Friday where they had been for
the benefit of Mrs. Roberts’ health
and am pleased to note that she
has improved a great deal.
Mr. Guy Armstrong who has
been away for some few years re-
turned last Sunday to the pleasure
of his relatives and many friends
here.
A number of our people here went
to Fort Lynn Saturday to attend
the picnic at that place. They re-
port a very pleasant time.
Ye scribe went to Prof. T. W.
Goodson's Saturday on a visit and
to attend a meeting which was be-
ing carried on at Holly Springs a
church near Mr. Goodson’s. I must
say that I enjoyed myself well while
with Mr. Goodson’s family and also
heard some very fine preaching at
Holly Springs. I returned yester-
day evening well pleased with my
trip.
With kind regards to eyery one
I am yours Bess.

KIRBY BEACH.
We met Mrs. Jodie Kirby yester-
day asked her how the Beach was
progressing and she said “I am
doing a very good business but it
is not as good as I would like. You
can say that I haye a nice old gen-
tleman to attend the Beach
and I am there myself to look after
the comfort of the lady patrons.”
The recent rains have added a
good volume to the flow from the
springs and the water keeps fresh
the surface.
I have a good patronage from the
College Hill people and many of
those from the city yisit the Beach
but I feel like if many of them
knew how the Beach was being run
this season they would put them-
selves to extra trouble in securing
conveyance to visit the Beach.
