begun to arrive and many will be
the watery mouths of our ladies
when they look upon the gay and
gaudy colors now being displayed.

down to business yet. It does look
like a big expense to hire so many
men to legislate for us when in fact
they do not do their work as fast
as it should be dispatched. There
are too many bills introduced and
too much time tooled away on dis-
cussing them.
The Fort Smith Commercial
League adopted the following reso-

senators and representatives in
congress from this state be and
they are hereby urged to do every-

nection es the Port Arthur canal
with the waters of the Gulf of
Mexico. And the departments of
the government are hereby respect-
fully requested to take all proper
steps to the same end.
