Reader see the new ads in this
morning’s paper. By so doing you
nay be able to save considerable in
making your purchases. Live mer-
ihants always speak through livt
iome papers and tell of what they
iave to offer in the way of bargains.
It pays to trade with such mei
hants —the unprogressive and
illiberal who “cannot afford to ad-
vertise” perhaps'because they hav<
little to offer will skin you in nine
cases out of ten.
Texarkana real estate is constant-
ly looking up and rents are of
course advancing in consequence—-
this is certainly a good sign that
the city is prosperous. In residence
property there has been an advance
in rents the past eighteen months
of nearly fifty per cent. Broad
str et business property is also ad
v.incing. From 1896 to 1899 rents
were very low here—lower than lit-
tle towns less than half the size of
Texarkana and this advance is n.itj
ur.il and in keeping with the eter-
tal fitness of things. When rents
so low property owners received
less than five per cent upon their
investment in many instances.
