HE HAS A CASE
Saw Bones and the Reporter Meet
Again.
We gave a short interview held
with one of our Dr.’s yesterday in
regard to the “Contagiosa Bul-
losa” and meeting up with him
again this morning he said: “Aside
from from your bad grammar dis-
connected disjoined sentences and
misplaced letters in your report of
I our conversation as to the “itchity”
itch or “Pempigus Tropicus” you
did quite well and as you stumbled
on to my Idea and diagnosticu s
bombasticus I will give you the
symptom of a patient I have suffer-
ing with “Bullosa.”
“Before I start however I had
better vaccinate you it shant cost
you a cent as you can sometime
mention my name in the paper as
treating cases successfully.”
The reporter thanked the doctor
by telling him he had been success-
fully vaccinated at divers and sun-
dry times and if it was all the same
to him he could take his vaccine
point and vaccinate the man in the
moon or some candidate.
The doctor was satisfied and
started out on the case in hand lie
said:
“I was called to visit No. ’Steen
on Bullfrog street. The patient
proved to be a highly ebonied lady
of the African decent. I made a
close diagnosis of the case timing
the pulse taking the temperature
and number of respirations etc. I
found the patient covered over
nodules surrounded by an areola.
The vesicles were fully distended
the nodles that had reached the
purieut stage were flaccid and when
I placed the patient in an upright
position the blebs hung down like
the head of a defeated candidate
the morning after the election;
when these blebs were ruptured
they immediately collapsed as did
Dewey after he had given away his
home to his wife step son. George.
When I removed the epidermis the
under surface appeared moist like
the water they drink in St. Louis
which later formed a scab or scale
of a yellow impetiginous crust. I
put my patient on a diet of chuck
steak corn dodger and coffee and
prescribed the following treatment:
A salve made of boric acid carbolic
acid and ichthyol. I ordered a wash
composed of a solution of bichloride
1-1000; after that to be used
unguentum hydrargyoi amraoniati.
Before leaving I ordered a yellow
rag hung on the door.”
At this period a dog fight started
on the street a block away and we
left the doctor still talking about
spores noduls lymphs etc.

Wirta Robinson and Clyde Taylor
The Little Rock Democrat thus
speaks of Miss Wirta Robinson of
Frostville and Clyde Taylor of Par-
agould Ark. in connection with an
entertainment recently given by
them:
“Os Miss Wirta Robinson we can
hardly find words to express our ad-
miration. She is a fine violinist a
gifted elocutionist and possesses a
voice of remarkable range and tim-
bre. These with herhiscronic abil-
ity served to completely capture
the audience whenever and in what-
ever role she appeared. She is cer-
tainly a gem of the first water —an
artist destined to win renown for
herself and Arkansas—her native
state. When it is taken into con-
sideration that she is only li years
of age her ability is truly wonder-
ful amounting to nothing short of
genius.
Master Clyde Taylor is second
only to Miss Wirta and in the opin
ion of manv is fully her equal. His
strongest forte is m the line of com-
edy and to say that the audience
appreciated his efforts is putting it
mild —they simply went wild. Mas-
ter Clyde is a talented impersona-
tor and the possessor of a remarka-
bly fine alto voice. The two in com-
bination Clyde and Wirta are sim-
ply irresistable. We will put them
against any otber team in the
country for furnishing genuine fun
and amusement."

Red River Navigation.
The Denison Herald has more
confidence in Red River than many
of the old logger head turtles that
bed in its sand or cattish that pull
over the bars in their meandenngs
after something to appease hunger.
The Herald says:
“Every engineer’s report ever
made states that Red river is nav-
igable as far as the mouth of the
Washita river and one of the recent
reports says that it is navigable as
far up as the mouth of Little
I Wichita opposite Henrietta. The
people of Red river valley are on the
i right track and good hard per-
' sistent work will bring bring success
and navigation. The Choctaw Nation
' will be included in a state in a very-
few years then all that country will
’ be settled and developed and Red
river will be one of the most impcr-
( tant commercial highways in the
Southwest.”
' Knowing Red river as we do we
cannot believe it can be made nav-
igable as far up as the Denison Her-
ald. There are seasons perhaps
that boats could be made to go up
' to the head waters but a fixed nav-
igation so far up cannot be made
unless locks and dams can be made
to store the water and right here
we do not believe this can be done
on account of the sandy condition of
the soil the river has made for its
bed. _____
