Mr. Lucas was born
December 19, 1916, in
Mills County. On July 17,
1947, he married Jewel I.
Oustad, in Stephenville.
They moved to Abilene in
1954 from Hamilton Coun-
ty, and later moved to the
View Community. He re-
tired in 1971, after working
as a service station attend-
ant for many years. He was
an Army veteran of WW II
and a member of View
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his
wife; a son, the Rev.
Rickey Wendell Lucas, of
Westport, KY; a daughter,
Susan Lucas Petermann, of
Baton Rouge, LA; two
brothers, Weldon of Goldth-
waite and Jimmy of Brady;
four sisters, Mrs. Carmen
Wall of Star, Mrs., Shirley
Foster of 1901 Glenhaven
Drive, Mrs. Vondean Rich-
ards of 2042 Parramore St.,
and Mrs. Rosa Williams of
