A free blood pressure
check-up was given to
residents of Moline on
Thursday, February 23,
between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
at the old General Store.
The program was spon-
sored by the Leisure Lodge
Home Health Services
Agency, based in Lampas-
as. Kathleen Clancey, R.N.,
administered the tests. The
event was a success, when
the population sparcity is
considered, and the initial
announcements on Hamil-
ton radio were in error
in giving the location as
Star instead of Moline.
Over twenty persons par-
ticipated.
The program is part of a
number of services for the
elderly provided in an
eight-county area, one of
which includes intermittent
care in the patients’ homes.
In most cases a registered
nurse is provided for the
in-home care; however,
nurses aides are also em-
ployed in the program
under the direction of a
registered nurse at all
times, according to Carol
Hartford, R.N., Director of
the agency.
It is believed that the
program will continue on a
monthly basis, and tenta-
tively will be announced in
the newspapers.
