How much is
encouragement worth?
Joseph Priestly failed as a
preacher and turned to teach-
ing. On a vacation he happened
to meet Ben Franklin, who was
twice his age. Franklin saw pos-
sibilities for more than grade-
school teaching in him. "You
have just the abilities to write a
history of electricity," Franklin
said to him, "and I will help you
start by lending you my books
and notes."
Flattered, Priestly rushed to
the task. In a year he had fin-
ished the first history of electric-
ity. He became a man of science,
discovered oxygen, and devel-
oped the first carbon dioxide fire
juster inspection and notify the
CFSA Office ofthe loss. You must
also file an ASCS-574 (Applica-
tion for Disaster Credit) before
you graze, bale, or plow disaster
affected crops so that CFSA can
make it's required inspection of
the crop to verify the crop acre-
age and the damage resulting
from disaster conditions.
