To the Friends
of John Hime:
Your outpouring of love was
overwhelming before and after
John’s death. Thank you for your
cards, letters, flowers, food, phone
calls, and donations to various
organizations.
Our thanks to Brother Doug
and Marie Lancaster for the beau-
tiful eulogy; to Jason who made
such beautiful arrangements
with fresh flowers; to the Stacy
group for a beautiful service; to
those who attended the memo-
rial service from out of town as
well as the townspeople; and to
the granddaughters, Lauren and
Elise Hime, who played the harp
and flute in honor of their grand-
father.
John loved Goldthwaite, and it
was a day of sadness but also one
of celebration of his life.

“Dish up some of these venison
vittles and enjoy! Our grand prize
winner is Maureen Linquist, a
member of Hamilton County
Electric Cooperative, for Surpris-
ing Meat Loaf. Linquist will re-
ceive a copy of The Second Typi-
cally Texas Cookbook and an
assortment of seasonings from
McCormick. We hope you enjoy
this variety of vittles.
Surprising Meat
Loaf
2 cups corn flakes, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1 pound ground venison
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 egg
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce,
divided
1/2 cup chopped ham
2 ounces Swiss cheese
2 ounces Cheddar cheese
Crush corn flakes; add pepper
and garlic salt. Mix with ground
venison, onions, egg, and half the
can of tomato sauce. Blend well.
Put meat mixture on wax paper
and pat into a rectangle about 1/
2-inch thick. Cut cheese into small
pieces and mix with ham.
Sprinkle ham and cheese over
meat mixture. Roll up “jelly roll”
style. Press ends together mak-
ing a loaf.
Place loaf with seam down into
shallow pan. Hint: Invert baking
pan over the meat roll and then
turn the whole thing over to get
loaf into pan more easily. Add
about 1/2 cup water. Cover with
foil and bake at 350 degrees for
40 to 45 minutes. Remove foil,
drizzle remaining tomato sauce
over top and return to over for 10
to 15 minutes. Let stand for about
5 minutes, slice and serve.

WE BUY OLD MOVIE POSTERS!
We pay thousands of dollars for accumulated movie posters and lobby
cards dating from 1900 to the 1970s. These posters were usually just
thrown away. If your family ran a theater and happened to save them,
call us to discuss what you have. We travel all over the country to buy
posters. If a friend or relative ever ran a theater or drive-in or now owns
an old theater building, be sure to tell them about this ad. If they have
posters we buy, we’ll pay you a generous finder’s fee. One of our buyers
will be in this area soon. Call today to arrange for a free expert evalua-
tion. We pay cash on the spot. Don’t miss out! We will only be here once.
