passed through the city Sunday en-
route to their home at Devine. Mr.
Hornburg assisted in holding a big
camp meeting at Bermuda, which
closed on Saturday of last week

iff’s of Caldwell county, and his
brother, Bill Daughtery was one of
Frio'a early sheriffs She is the
mother of 9 children, one of whom,
Mrs. Ella Lowry, is with her on this
visit. All honor and praise to these
grand old mothers of Texes and may
they linger long in the twilight,
with many loving hands to care for
them and loving hearts to bless.

J. M. Henderson brought a sample
stalk of cotton to this office Monday
from his farm near Bigfoot. It had
eleven grown bolls, six bloom and
five squares,on it and certainly
makes a promising appearance. Mr.
Henderson is a good farmer and gen-
erily makes a crop, regardless of con
ditions, and if he has much like the
sample he had here he will certainly
have a fine one this year.
