Notes

Text: "Friday morning. My Sweetheart -- here I sit all huddled up writing to you and doctoring myself when I ought to be in anatomy lab. No, I'm not sick, just a little sore throat, hardly enough to speak of. What I'm doing is taking preventative treatment - -I wouldn't take the flu or get sick right now for anything -- and there is considerable flu around here, and the weather is excellent for its spread. But don't get excited I'm all right, and having a good time. I met the postman just now, but no letter from you -- I suppose you're just getting back at me for not having written day before yesterday myself. But I love you allie [sic] same, and am just hoping I'll get one this afternoon. This time next week -- just think, I'm so excited over it I can't study -- but I've got to study for that anatomy quiz Monday, but after that -- I'll start packing! We had a full nine hour day yesterday and studied pretty late last night -- till 11:30! Which is really late for this term! I believe this term's work is going to be much more interesting than last's. There were 21 E's and 3 F's in chemistry, one third of the class failing it! And I'll bet there weren't over 20 or 25 who passed all their courses, and some of them with few D's. Still trying to console myself! I am anxious to hear what the folks will say -- I haven't sent anything to them about going to Colorado yet, but believe I can make my case strong enough to put it over --if we decide to go, and it looks like that's the surest way out of this predicament. Sweetheart, it's nearly time for histology lab, and I don't think I ought to miss that this week! But next week! I'll bet I won't be there. I love you, dear, with all o' me. Your own, whether you say so or not! Felix."
