BRIDAL SHOWER
Miss Sharon Renz, bride elect
of James Collins, was the hon-
oree at a bridal shower on
Nov. 8 at the Dime Box School
Cafeteria. Upon entering, the
bride to be and mothers were
presented corsages. Several
games were played and a read-
ing given. Sharon opened her
many useful gifts and expressed
her thanks. The hostesses gift
was a toaster-broiler baker
oven. Hostingthe occasion were
Mesdames LeRoy Wiederhold,
Archie Lawerence, Gerhard
Kissman, Albert Nimtz, Walter
Dube, Dennis Mikulin, Thomas
Mikulin, Johnny Mikulin & Joe
Mikulin Jr. Refreshments were
served afterwards.
PERSONALS
Mrs. Bell Bridges, Mr. E. C.
Allen Jr., Lisa & Suzie in
Houston. They also went by
the Astro Dome. Enroute home
Thursday they took a sight see-
ing tour at the Somerville Lake
and that eveningall were supper
guests of Mr. & Mrs. Dub.
Allen, Debbie, Pat & Judy in
Caldwell. The Kentuckians left
for their home Friday morning
with our blessings.
Mr. & Mrs. Pete Odstrical
of Chriesman visited Mr. &
Mrs. Joe Vavra Saturday.
Mrs. Esther Leitko attended
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Valigura,
Mrs. Fritzie Klagman and Mr.
and Mrs. M. C. Spitzenberger
of Giddings attended the funeral
of their aunt, Mrs. Rudolph
Proske in Lexington Thursday
afternoon.
Mr. & Mrs. Angel Leyva &
Donita, Mrs. Charles Kornegey
Linda & Lizzy of Houston spent
the weekend with their daddy,
Mr. Edd Kuchera & Sonny and
Mr. & Mrs. Frank Kubena.

urday and visited Mr. & Mrs. 1

Mr. & Mrs. H. J. Zschech of
the wedding of her granddaugh-
ter in Houston Saturday.

daughter Susan of Fort Worth,
Mr. & Mrs. Waymen, Davis &
Peggy of Houston, all visited
Mrs. Albine Blaha over the
weekend.
HONORED ON BIRTHDAY
Mrs. J. A. Polansky was
treated to a delicious 6 o’clock
dinner prepared by Mrs. O. W.
Rost on her mother’s birthday,
Nov. 11. Present for the occa-
sion were Father Michael Bod-
nar. Mr. & Mrs. O. W. Rost &
children of Giddings, Mr. &
Mrs. George Kocurek of Cald-
well, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Spacek
and Mr. & Mrs. August Spacek
and the honoree, Mr. & Mrs.
J. A. Polansky.
Sunday visitors of the J. A.
Polansky were Major & Mrs.
Otto J. Laier of Austin.
Mrs. Albina Blaha attended
the wedding of her grandson,
Jimmy Schwierzke, in Caldwell
Saturday.
We are happy to report Mrs.
Jennie King is able to be home
from the hospital, Mrs. Ella
Wolf of Houston spent last wek
with her.
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Vavra visited
Mr. & Mrs. John Vavra in Cald-
well last Thursday.
Mr. & Mrs. Martin Spitzen-
berger of Austin spent Sunday
with Mr. Paul Grundman.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Urbanovsky
visited Mr. & Mrs. Emil Urban-
ovsky. Mr. Emil is home from
the hospital and feeling much
better.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Urbanovsky
honored their parents, Mr. &
Mrs. Joe Vavra with a dinner
on their 55th Wedding Anni-
versary Sunday. Present were
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Vavra Sr.,
Mr. & Mrs. John J. Vavra and
WOLFES GO DEEP SEA FISHING
Nick Wolfe and his two sons,
Nick, 13 and Sigy, 11 reported
an enjoyable deep sea fishing
trip over the Nov. 8 weekend.
Sigy pulled in a 25-pound
drum fish and Nick caught one
which weighed 18 pounds.
When the Wolfes got back to
shore, some people from Hous-
ton who weren’t sto successful

Dime Box. They brought Grand-
ma Maluschka home who had
been visiting them for the past
several weeks.

iness and also visited their
mother, Mrs. Edd Kuchera at
the Nursing home.
Mr. & Mrs. Jack Harzke &
family of Austin spent Friday
night and Saturday with their
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert
Harzke.

and family and Mrs. Lillian
Dickerson of Houston visited
Mrs. Estelle Hibler and Mrs.
L. G. Dodd Sunday.
