No one was injured in a two-
vehicle collision Saturday, approved $4 million worth of
Aug. 30 at 9:10 a.m. about one-
half mile east of Giddings.
Involved in the accident was
a 2007 Pontiac Vibe sedan
driven by Patricia Story of
Lexington, and a 2005 Infinity
G35 sedan driven by Charles
Scheler of Manor.
The Pontiac was stopped on
the shoulder on the eastbound
side of Hwy. 290 and the
Infinity was going east in the
outside lane when the driver of
the Pontiac attempted to make
a U-turn, said DPS Trooper
Bob Thorp.
The driver of the Infinity
braked and swerved left, but
his car struck the front left

certificates of obligation at
their last meeting.
Money will be used to make
renovations and improvements
to water projects, city hall,
new water well and water well
plant, fire department improve-
ments and debt cost.
Mayor Richard Heffley said,
“I can't find one of these items
on the list that we can’t live
without.”
Councilwoman Sandra Frinka
said it was a matter of priori-
ties. "When I have a fire I want
the best fire department. I don't
want sewer backing up in my
house because a lift station
failed, and I want water com-
ing out of my faucet, but that
all costs money.”
