WHENT--,
when is a goat not a goat in
baseball? Well, we know of one
who became one and then left the
title behind a little later. That’s
Cecil McCollum, sensational left
fielder on the Postorfice Garage
team in the Cleburne Amateur
Baseball league. He got on base
against Frigidice with a hit, fol-
lowing a clean single by Tut Har-
ris and with the runners on sec-
ond end third tried to steal the hot
corner. It happened to be occu-
pied by Tut who was forced at
home.

CASKEY DAY-
Tuesday was Caskey Day in the
Cleburne Amateur league game.
The money taken up for the game
went to Umpire Jim Caskey with
compliments of the league. It was
done to show appreciation of the
circuit for his work. Jim's been
faithful and we consider Mm a
good umpire. Some of the players
a right to their opinion but for

it while.Holbrook for Grandview
also went the full route and turned
const in a nice game but was given poor

certainly not Holbrook’s fault that
the game was lost. A fair crowd
was on hand and everybody enjoyed
the game. The score:

CANT Gur STARTED
Frigidice just can’t get start-
ed this second half. The first
part of the cracked season It
looked like they’d never lose
a game, but along came Post-
office to plaster them enough
to get in a play-off. Frigidice
won with a spltball pitcher and
the game was forfeited to
Postoffice on the grounds that
the hurler resided in Fort
Worth. The second half to
date looks like Frigidice may
have trouble winning 50 per.
cent of their battles.
WHICH REMINDS ts
AQ of which reminds us that we
picked Postoffice Garage to win
the first half-in the league. They
did didn’t they? Here's how we
selected them to finish in chnee.
