Unattended donations unwelcome at Family Services
When Hill Country Family Ser-
vices employees arrived for work
Monday, they found large furniture
items and other donations left in
the facility’s parking lot on W.
Advogt.
While the agency appreciates the
donations, the items left unattended
over the weekend blocked the park-
ing lot, Operating Director Cookie
Edwards said. The blocked parking
lot was an inconvenience for the
many HCFS clients coming to the
office for services, she added.
CHFS accepts donations of clothing, furniture
and other items for sale in the agency’s thrift shop;
however, they ask that all donations be made dur-
ing regular hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday
through Friday.
Donations may also be dropped off between 8
a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at the thrift shop located
next door to the office at 120 Advogt.
