Students engage
in outdoor project
The BADGE (Brady Advanced/
Gifted Education) students at Brady
Elementary have a mission—to cre-
ate an outdoor learning area behind
the school for all the children in the
school to enjoy.
The project has brought an extra
blast of excitement to the BADGE
classes as the students conduct re-
search and make plans to transform
an empty, unattractive piece of land
into a beautiful garden where visitors
can relax and learn about a variety of
native animals, birds, insects and
plants.
In the center of the garden is an
arbor, which the students have helped
to construct Later in the spring, after
the planting has been completed, the
students will be conducting tours
through the garden for parents, stu-
dents and members of the commu-
nity.
The project is funded by a grant
from Learn and Serve America which
has provided money for tools, equip-
ment, supplies and plant materials.
The BADGE students are also de-
lighted to have the members of the
Brady Garden Club as their commu-
nity partners, and both groups are
looking forward to working together.
For additional information about
the outdoor learning project, please
contact BADGE teacher Jan Gardner
at Brady Elementary.

To all the people of McCulloch
County, especially-the ones I
have not been able to contact
to ask for their vote, I take this
means to do so.
I offer you professional law
enforcement experience,
which I have gained in
McCulloch County since be-
ing certified as a peace officer here in Brady, on
February 1, 1983, at the McCulloch County Court-
house. Since that time I have exceeded all qualifica-
tions necessary to be a peace officer in the State of
Texas, according to TCLOSE standards.
My roots have been in McCulloch County for 26
years, buying my first home here in 1974, at Brady
Lake.
If elected Constable again, I promise to work as I did
when serving as your Constable in previous years.
Please exercise your right to vote, either in the early
voting or the primary election on March 14, 2000.
